Non-Official Branded Olympic Video Ads Take Gold

Now that the Olympics are all wrapped up we take a look at some successful video’s that have drawn in large number of viewers or deserve creative gold medals.

In the Global Ads Chart for the past 30 days, we see some YouTube videos from other brands that are snatching gold from the jaws of official Olympic advertisers.

For example,  “Nike: Find Your Greatness. — Jogger.” Yes, it only has 532,000 views and 67,000 shares, but Nike didn’t fork over close to $100 million to become an official sponsor of the 2012 Olympics.

Close behind that video is “Nike: Find Your Greatness.” It has over 4.2 million views and 50,000 shares.

We love this Olympic video for the Belgium TV channel CANVAS. The creative was devised by Willem van den Hoof of upstart Belgian agency make Lemonade, and was directed by collective Lionel Goldstein  (Koen Mortier and Joe Vanhoutteghem, co-founders of Czar). “Lionel Goldstein was the best director for the job – they really took it to the next level,” says van den Hoof.
